William G. McGowan Fund Legacy Project
starting place
Founded to honor the legacy of William G. McGowan, former chairman of MCI, The McGowan Fund supports philanthropic efforts in the areas of education, human services, healthcare and medical research. The Fund brought us on to help address issues of succession planning, specifically to document and transmit the wisdom, knowledge and expertise possessed by the fund’s current board of directors in a form that would be accessible to future board members.
WHAT WE DID
As a first step, we identified several areas of inquiry pertaining to the work of the board that would be relevant to new board members stepping into their duties for the first time. We researched the history and structure of the organization extensively in the lead-up to our three-day shoot with fund leadership. We then created a series of four short films, each a “chorus-of-voices” piece focusing on one area of the McGowan Fund's history or philosophy.

William G. McGowan Fund Fellows Program
starting place
The McGowan Fellows Program is a scholarship program designed to support business students and next-generation leaders committed to ethical business practices. The McGowan Fund partners with top MBA programs across the United States to award full-tuition scholarships to 10 second-year MBA students who have demonstrated academic excellence and social leadership. The Fund wished to create awareness of this program and to welcome their incoming class of fellows into the McGowan community using video.
What we did
The TimeTravlr team worked closely with McGowan Fund leadership and Social Strategy Associates to produce a short film highlighting the vision, voice, and legacy of Bill McGowan, and linking that legacy to the introduction of the next cohort of McGowan Fellows.
We continue to collaborate with the McGowan fund on storytelling efforts articulating the fund's knowledge and expertise in the realm of philanthropy.
